Our school is located in beautiful scenery. The town is one of the white towns (very famous in the region of Andalusia) located at the top of a mountain .
The town isf ull of little streets with small and old houses. The architecture is tipical of the region of Andalusia, with white buildings, churches, arches, etc. The streets are very steep.
The school is situated in a neighbourhood outside the town (Arcos de la frontera), near to a lake and in the middle of some mountains. The neighbourhood is in the middle of nature, with a big lake.
Our school is of average size, and we educate children from 3 to 12 years old (kindergarten and primary). In total we have about 350 pupils and 30 teachers, including teachers working to educate students with special needs, such as speech therapist, therapeutic pedagogy teacher, etc. All these help about 20 children with special needs.
At school there are also children with some financial problems.
The government pays for the books for all school children.
5 years ago the school became a bilingual school and this means that some subjects are taught in english (arts and crafts and science). But we must go further to get internet access in all classrooms and some smart boards.
The school also has some active learning projects with different topics (peace, nature, healthy food, etc...).
