Jerez de la Frontera, 08.11-12.11.2011

Spanish meeting 08.11-12.11.2011

After being welcomed with the Comenius group, there was a time to exchange information on the implementation of project tasks.
In the evening we had the opportunity to try typical Spanish dishes in a restaurant.

In the morning we went to the primary school in Arcos de la Frontera, where we saw all sorts of classes attended by children from classes I-VI. The leitmotif was a popular Spanish comic written by Todo "Mortadelo and Philemon." The students presented scenes from the book, did the work of art referring to the characters mentioned in the text.
Then each group of teachers presented the homework that had to be done.

We had a chance to see the junior high school and high school located in Arcos de la Frontera. The school has over 900 pupils, is comparative new, because it works for 7 years and it is well equipped. The headmaster of the school familiarized us with the specific job base, so we could compare it with the Polish schools.
We visited the region's typical Andalusian horse stud, Jerez is famous for. The owner presented us the most magnificent horses he had, and then entertained us in a room full of family memorabilia referring to the passion for riding and horse teams.

In the morning, the hosts organized a tour of Arcos de la Frontera with a guide. In a beautiful, sunny weather we could admire the fourteenth and fifteenth - century monuments of the city, as well as residues even after Roman times. Especially breathtaking were the views from the terraces, because the city is situated on the rocks. Went through the narrow, charming streets, we could feel its atmosphere.

After lunch we went to Jerez de la Frontera, and there we were traveling in a tram. We saw small successive landmarks, monuments and charming places.
In the evening we met at the farewell dinner in a pub ‘Bereber and Damajuana’ at the tasting snacks called tapas.
